86101 makes a brief stop at Birmingham International with the Wembley-Crewe leg of the Atomic Harbourmaster tour - running around 2hours late at this point. (Oct-'07)

86220 'The Round Tabler' at Doncaster on the rear of a Serco Railtest train. Anglia Railways were contracted to provide electric locos before EWS took over with its 67s. (Feb-'01)

86227 'Golden Jubilee' with extra embellishments at Ipswich for London.

86228 was one of a pair (86213 was its partner) mistakenly repainted into Virgin Trains red livery during 2001 and restored to a serviceable status. This work was undertaken in error and the loco was returned to standard Intercity livery (minus branding) soon after, giving 213 and 228 the honours of being the last main line electric locos to be given the distinctive Intercity livery. Ironically, around a year later 86228 was returned to service with Virgin Trains for whom it is on standby duties, at Crewe. (Aug-'03)

86233 'Lawrence Olivier' at London Euston prior to departure for Birmingham. Note the DVT located immediately behind the loco; while not a common sight, it was a way of transferring stock between depots without taking up an extra path on the busy WCML. (Oct-'01)

As a farewell to the West Coast 86s, Alstom Traincare funded the repaint of 86233 into original electric blue livery. Named 'Alstom Heritage' seen here at Nuneaton as standby (Sep-'02)
